Bare Academy is committed to providing participants with a range of classes, seminars and workshops across four main categories: acting, dance, vocal and technical. When designing our offerings, we endeavour to follow the following values:
Accessibility - We believe that the arts are for everyone and work to create space, content and a community that is open to all regardless of background or ability.
Creativity - We embrace and encourage imagination and creative thinking in all forms of the performing arts. We strive to create exciting and diverse content across the performing arts.
Encouragement - We put positive feedback at the core of all our offerings. We want participants to feel actively encouraged in their learning and feel that they are continually in a safe space.
Innovation - We are excited about the opportunities to grow and change, continuously looking for new ways to explore and engage with people and the arts.
Community - We view the social experience within the performing arts to be as important as the work itself. We strive to create a space where people can develop friendships and feel part of a wider community.
Acting
Our acting classes are designed to help you become a better performer. They are a place where you can learn, explore and most importantly improve your skillset and confidence in a safe, inclusive space. Our classes explore a huge variety of theatre and acting skills and are taught by experienced instructors whose main focus is to encourage you and make each session enjoyable.
Dance
In our dance strand, you will find offerings of classes from both typical musical theatre genres as well as those typically not seen on the stage. Our focus is on the acquisition and attainment of classic dance fundamentals needed to execute each dance genre with flair and confidence. Whether you’re a beginner or well accustomed to dance, there’s something in our syllabus to suit all. We ensure that all our instructors put an enjoyable encouraging experience for participants at the helm of every class.
Masterclasses
Our masterclasses allow participants to engage with professionals from across the performing arts field, gaining a deeper understanding of the industry. Previous masterclasses have included working with West End and Broadway actors, voiceover artists and backstage engineers to name a few.
